Bicol Medical Center (BMC)
The Bicol Medical Center (BMC) is a medical center located in Naga, which started in 1933 as a 25-provincial hospital funded by Dr. Francisco Gomez. Unfortunately, there were inadequate facilities that it closed in 1936. However, the Camarines Sur Provincial Government subsidized the hospital, until it became a full-grown public hospital in 1940. Recently, the medical center opened its first Modernization Project and became the first regional cancer center in the region of Bicol and South Luzon. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was graced by the Secretary of Department of Health (DOH) named Francisco Duque III.
The center is closer to The Avenue Plaza Hotel, which is about 20 minutes' walk from each other. This hotel has 63 smoke-free guestrooms, with an outdoor pool and an onsite restaurant that serves complimentary continental breakfast. The Nagaland Hotel also offers a modern-styled room, with a private bathroom with toiletries and a small living room with a seated sofa. One of the amenities of the hotel is the scheduled free shuttle going to the airport. Basilica of Our Lady of Penafrancia is a minor Roman Catholic Basilica and considered one of the largest Marian Pilgrimage sites in entire Asia. Tourists can also go straight away to SM City Naga for shopping and dining. SM City Naga is also a place for entertainment as there were cinemas and kids play centers.
