Biratnagar Airport - BIR
One of the domestic airports that mainly serve Biratnagar, Nepal is the Biratnagar Airport. The airport is currently the third busiest airport located in Nepal, right after the bigger Kathmandu Airport and the Pokhara Airport. BIR Airport is a public airport and owned by the Government of Nepal. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, together with several other airports in the country, currently operates the airport. Back in 2017, the airport was one of the several locations in India and Nepal, which was heavily, flooded forcing the terminal to temporarily suspend their operations.

Biratnagar Airport is located at an elevation of 72 meters above mean sea level. It currently features a single runway with an asphalt surface 1,505 meters long. BIR is one of the few airports located in Nepal that has its own aviation fuel depot inside its premises. Buddha Air and Nepal Airlines are the focus airlines served in the airport. The Nepalese Army Air Service is also accommodated in the airport. Nearby Biratnagar is one of the nearby cities to the airport and the fourth largest city in Nepal. There are several historical landmarks to see and enjoy in this city.
