Fatmawati Soekarno Airport is a domestic airport that serves local flights in the city of Bengkulu province and other nearby towns in the region. Located in Bengkulu, Indonesia, the city capital of the province, it was named after the wife of the first ever president of Indonesia - First Lady Fatmawati Soekarno. BKS-Fatmawati Soekarno is situated 8.7 miles from the city. The terminal can accommodate the largest types of aircraft such as the Boeing 737 and the Airbus A320. A new terminal is on the works to be able to accommodate a total of 5.6 million passengers in the terminal as well as to be able to operate as an international airport after the completion of the new terminal.
