It was established in 1937 as Berry Field from where the ICAO and IATA identifiers where taken from. The current terminal in BNA-Nashville Intl. was built in 1987, which has four runways and covers more than 1600 hectares. The Berry Field Air National Guard Base is also situated in this airfield.
