Braunlage: A Unique German Experience
A town in Lower Saxony, Braunlage, Germany has been recognized as a health resort since 1934. In the early 13th century, when it was still known as “Brunla”, it was a mere pit settlement in the Harz forests. In the 17th century, it was a small Brunswick market town.
Best Time to Visit
Braunlage, GER has the perfect weather during the months of June through September. Tourists usually flock the town during the months of April, May, and August. People are least likely to visit in December, as trends would suggest. One of the most awaited events in the state is Schutzenfest Hannover, which is held every October. It is the world’s biggest shooting festival. Currently, nearly 70 clubs with more than 3,500 members are part of the Association Hannoverscher Schutzenverein. During the event, there are activities for everyone. They may enjoy the dancing, the music, as well as the amusement rides.

A local nature reserve, Harz National Park is part of the European Union’s (EU) Natura 2000 network. 95% of the park is covered with forests.
