Brunico: A Century-Old Town in Northern Italy
Also known as Bruneck, Brunico, Italy is a town found in the South Tyrol province. It serves as the biggest one in the Puster Valley, covering a total land area of 17 square miles. Brunico is believed to be named in honor of Bruno von Kirchberg, a Brixen prince-bishop who founded the community.
Best Time to Visit
If you’re in Brunico between June and July, you should include the Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige in your itinerary. This music event attracts a handful of international jazz artists and musicians, as well as tourists from across the region. This is typically held for ten days from the latter part of June to the first week of July. This is just in time for the summer season, which happens to be the second busiest time for most of Brunico, Italy hotels as the tourist population increases dramatically by this time of year.
