Caluire-et-cuire : Lyon’s Dynamic, Historical City
Caluire-et-cuire is one of the largest suburban cities in Lyon known mostly for its rich history. For one, it was noted to be the site of the Battle of Lugdunum or the Battle of Lyon, believed to be one of the largest battles among Roman forces. The city of Caluire-et-cuire has also been the site of the arrest of Jean Pierre Moulin, the first President of the National Council of the Resistance during World War II, in 1943. Caluire-et-Cuire is about an hour drive to or from Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport so you can book flights here.
