Centre Hassan II
Centre Hassan II, or commonly called the Rehabilitation of Asilah, is a coastal town founded in the medieval period. This center is located in Asilah. Centre Hassan II is now used as a center for culture and heritage events. The protection around Asilah, which was built 15 years ago, was from the efforts from different cultural organizations and interested intellectuals. The Rehabilitation of Asilah became a recipient of the prestigious Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 1989. At the start of the 20th century, the people of Asilah hand-in-hand relocated commercial facilities and repainted some walls with mural painting with their local artists. As of today, the city still strives to improve the water and sewerage systems, as well as maintaining the whole building and mosques.
