Cherasco: Italy’s Capital of the Snail Delicacy
Cherasco, Italy is a commune in Cuneo. It is one of the 11 communes making up the TERRA of the BAROLO WINE. It is home to Cherasco Synagogue, which is popular for its Baroque Torah ark and bimah. It is dubbed as the country’s “Capital of the Snail Delicacy”.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Cherasco is during the months of May through September, for the perfect weather. The busiest months are usually February, May, and July. Tourists are least likely to visit in October. One of the most anticipated events in the commune is Cherasco Snail Festival, which is usually held every end of September until the beginning of October. It features conferences, demonstrations, snail shows, among others. Of course, the gastronomic experience remains to be the event’s main highlight. Visitors may enjoy various delicacies like ravioli stuffed with snails, snail herb fritters, snail kebabs, snail ragu, and snails steamed with hazelnuts.

One of the most popular attractions in the commune is Golf Club Cherasco, which has an 18-hole course designed by Marco Croze. It has thousands of trees that offer a relaxing and stunning atmosphere.
