Chisseaux: Fairy Tales are Real
Chisseaux, France is a picturesque river town located in the department of Indre-et-Loire. This former fortress town only has about a thousand or less inhabitants which makes it a great destination for some serenity and clearing of mind. Numerous castles found all over the town are the main points of interest when visiting. There are also state-of-the-art spa facilities all over, a great way to relax.
Best Time to Visit
It rains a significant amount over at Chisseaux throughout the entire year but it does not mean you cannot enjoy the warmth of the sun every now and then. From June to August, you can expect the most sunshine and lesser chances of rainfall. However, these months fall under the summer season and thus, there are many travelers visiting the town so higher rates for Chiseeaux hotels are expected.
What to Do & Area Attractions
The Le Moulin Fort is just one of the forts built around the river in Chisseaux. It now functions as a camping ground for those who want to sleep under the starry skies. There is also the Chateau Couldraies, once was a fancy castle but now is a winery. The most gorgeous castles of them all though is the Chateau de Chenonceau, built in the 16th century and has a huge courtyard where your fairytale dreams might come to life. A dainty hotel, Hôtel Clair Cottage, located at the outskirts of the town offers spacious rooms and fresh complimentary breakfasts. There is also the posh bed and breakfast place called La Maison de Famille, just walking distance away from the latter castle previously mentioned. Meanwhile, an outdoor swimming pool awaits you at Hotel La Roseraie.
