Columbus Municipal Airport - CLU-Columbus Municipal
Located 3 miles north of Columbus, Indiana, Columbus Municipal Airport is located in the site of the former Atterbury Army Airfield that operated during World War II. Situated in Bartholomew County, CLU-Columbus Municipal uses different three-letter code identifiers for both the Federal Aviation Administration and the International Air Transport Association. Most airports in the United States uses the same code identifiers for both airline trade associations. After the war, the airport also became the home of the Air Force Reserve from 1949 to 1952 as well as from 1953 to 1969.
