It is located in Gosselies in Charleroi, Wallonia, Belgium and serves the area and the nearby places. The Brussels South Charleroi Airport, whose airport code is CRL, dates back to 1919 as a flying school and followed by aeronautical activities the next year. During 2nd World War, the site was used as an Advanced Landing Ground. After the war, the airport was converted to public and commercial use.
