Diano Marina: A Place for Enjoying the Sunshine
Diano Marina is a municipality in Imperia in Liguria region of Italy that was dedicated to Diana, the Roman goddess of hunting thus, its name. Known as the city of orange trees, it has a beautiful palm-lined promenade filled with shops, bars, cafés and restaurants. It is also popular for its long sandy beaches and bustling town center with charming art nouveau buildings in pastel colors. Its port sits smack in the middle of town safely harboring local leisure boaters and even those who are just traversing through.
Best Time to Visit
Beach season is usually from mid-May to mid-September. This is when majority of tourists come to Diano hence there is a surge in prices for Diano Marina hotels and flights. But advance bookings can definitely yield some savings. However, beaches are still accessible even during off-peak season. A festival not to be missed is the Ferragosto (August 15) in honor of the Madonna del Carmine featuring firework display and lighted lamps floating asea.

If you’re visiting you can’t miss the Diano Marina Port, one of the most fully equipped ports in the region. Also worth going to is the Molo delle Tartarughe (Turtle Pier) that extends to the seafront promenade where a Christopher Columbus stands. Here you can get a good view of the entire gulf and its beautiful beaches. The pier is also a great location for promenading, meeting friends or as venue for musical performances.
