The Emerald Coast Science Center was originally named Families of Okaloosa County Understanding Science or FOCUS. It was in the initiative of the Jr. League Emerald Coast led by Dr. Alexis Tibbets that the science center came to life. The science center offers a variety of exhibits, from animals, robotics, color, light, and sound, to engineering, physics, and electricity. All their exhibits feature engaging activities for both children and adults. The animal exhibit feature rescued birds, arachnids, reptiles, and mammals of various species. The science center also welcomes volunteers and ambassadors. It is located in Memorial Parkway, Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
