Groton: Home of Wind Farm
Groton, New Hampshire is part of Grafton County. Geographically, the town has Tenney Mountain which is about 720 miles above the sea. The Cockermouth River is flowing from West to East right through the center of Groton. The town is lying at the top of Merrimack River Watershed. Originally, the town was called Cockermouth in order of the Earl of Egremont which is the Secretary of the State. The land was granted to Samuel Blood then renamed the town after his home town which is Groton Massachusetts. In 2009, the town allowed a wind farm in town to generate energy.
