This 247-acre area is home to one of Europe’s few remaining tidal floodplain forests. Apart from housing numerous plant and insect species, the nature preserve has been a breeding ground for birds, as well. Harbour Museum Hamburg is also a must-see site as it features the historical development of the city’s port and exhibits old wooden ships, some of which are sailing vessels, barges, and a ship-turned-restaurant.
