The Princeville Airport in Hanalei, Hawaii first began operations in 1977. Located within 3 miles of the central business district, the private airport has the airport code HPV, and sees an average of 7,300 operations. The first flights were from Princeville Airways, which operated between Princeville, Kauai, and Honolulu. This was the primary route for guests who wanted to reach the popular Princeville resorts. Only short of two decades, The State handled the airport.

The Princeville Airport in Hanalei began its 2nd wave of commercial airline operations on May 1, 2019, after 20 years of hiatus. The Makani Kai Air flies between HPV Airport and the Honolulu International Airport on a daily basis. The airport features one runway, and sits on 29 acres of land. Its current operator is Princeville Corp, and at least two aircrafts are based within the Princeville Airport.

Another airport that travelers use to get to Princeville is the Lihue Airport in Lihue, which, unlike HPV Airport, it is a public-use airport also serving the entire island of Kaua'i.
