Valley International Airport – HRL Harlingen
Valley International Airport is situated in Rio Grande Valley. Because of its location, the airport is known to be the “Gateway to South Padre Island” and has a door-to-door transportation offered to the passengers going to the island. An airport board runs the airport with nine members that are appointed by the mayor because it is owned by the city of Harlingen, Texas. The airport was once Harlingen Air Force Base and was later converted to a civil airport.

The airport features seven gates with shopping and dining options and parking lots. Other nearby cities includes Laguna Vista, Los Fresnos, Lozano and Port Isabel.
