Kyiv International Airport – IEV Airport
Zhuliany or Kyiv International Airport is a public and military airport owned by the City of Kiev and the Government of Ukraine. It is located in Zhuliany, Ukraine and serves Zhuliany and other nearby areas. The airport is one of the two airports in Kiev that offer passenger service. The other is Boryspil International Airport.
Best Time to Visit
IEV Airport was known as a military airfield in 1923. It was after the Second World War that the airport terminal was built and in 1960 that the first passenger service began. The construction of Boryspil International Airport in 1959 slowly replaced Zhuliany as the main airport. In 2013, the airport experienced a rapid growth competing head to head with Boryspil Airport. Only recently on March 2018 was the Zhuliany renamed to International Airport “Kyiv” Igor Sikorsky. Aside from Zhuliany, the airport also serves surrounding areas like Boryspil, Chubynske, and Khodosivka.
