Skiathos Airport ‘AlexandrosPapadiamantis’– JSI
The Skiathos Island National Airport is one of the 46 airports in Greece. The airport is located in the Skiathos island and serves Skiathos, Greece and another island Lazareta. The Skiathos Island National Airport, whose airport code is JSI, was opened in 1972. It was created for the purpose of reclamation. Land from the sea was filled in between Skiathos and the smaller island Lazareta. It resulted to the creation of one larger island from the two islands. Unlike most airports where you can observe takeoffs and landings from afar, Skiathos Airport takeoffs and landings can be viewed at a very close range.
