Keene: The Pumpkin Capital of Cheshire County
Home to Keene State College, Keene is the county seat of Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States. The village was attacked by an Indian tribe that burned it down. Its residents came back to rebuild the village which Governor Benning Wentworth later on renamed to Keene after English minister Sir Benjamin Keene. Today, Keene, NH draws its fair share of tourists because of its beautiful landscapes and unique festivals. It holds the Keene Pumpkin Festival every year, filling streets and hotels with visitors from all over the county.

Although winters in Keene, North Hampshire can be terribly severe, its summers draw the most number of tourists.
