Langebaan: A Town of Pure Nature
Langebaan, South Africa is the location of the West Coast National Park, conveniently close to a lagoon where more than 300 species of birds flock together. Unsurprisingly, the area is popular among bird watchers, especially during the months of August and September. If you want to really steer clear of the city, this is the place to go to because Langebaan makes a point of disallowing industries to maintain their natural resources.
Best Time to Visit
The peak season for the city are in January, February, and November – with weather that’s remarkably friendly and perfect for excursions. You can extend that vacation all the way to October if you wish and take part in their annual Langebaan Mussel Festival. Of course, this also means that the months will be at their most expensive. Visiting during the off-peak season of June will likely give you better lodging rates – but don’t be fooled. There are always lots of people here year-round because of the kayaking, skiing, and other water sports made possible through the lagoon.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Langebaan, South Africa hotels like the The Farmhouse Hotel or the Mykonos Holidays @ Club Mykonos partake of a more traditional façade rather than a high-rise, city-inspired one. This is not surprising as the small town tries to maintain an aura of proximity to nature – which they manage to perfectly do. You’ll also have a choice amongst no less than three swimming spots – the Calypso Beach, the Langebaan Beach, and the Langebaan Lagoon.
