Tenzing–Hillary Airport in Lukla, Nepal is one of the smaller airports located in Nepal. Located in the eastern region of the county, the airport was included as one of the most critical airports in the world for over 20 years in the History Channel list of 2010. LUA Airport is located in one of the most popular places on Earth, Luksa, which is the starting base of your journey to the top of Mount Everest. Daily flights are available between Lukla and Kathmandu seasonally during good weather.

Built in 1964, Tenzing–Hillary Airport was originally planned to be built over farmlands, however, the airport was instead built in its current location near Mount Everest. The airport has an asphalt runway that is only accessible to small fixed-wing aircrafts as well as helicopters. Located 2,845 meters above sea level, the airport is mostly used for passenger flights as well as transporting cargo to Lukla and other nearby towns.
