Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport – MBX Maribor
Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport is located in Maribor, Slovenia, specifically in Hoce-Silvnica approximately 6.2 miles south of Maribor. It is one out of only two airports suitable for international commercial aviation which is why it is considered as the second biggest and most important airport in the country.The airport has an Instrument Landing System. The name of the airport is taken from Edvard Rusjan, the Slovene pioneer aviator. The Slovenia state owns the airport while DRI upravljanje investicij, d.o.o. runs its operations. The airport is a hub for flight training and is popular for many Europeans.

Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport has one asphalt runway measuring 8,202 feet in length and one grass runway measuring 3,937 feet in length. Based on 2018 statistics from the Slovenian AIP, the airport served 2,435 passengers. The renovated airport was opened in 2012 having the capacity of handling 600,000 passengers per year. After many changes in management and ownership, the airport is now mostly utilized as a flight school. In the late parts of 2018, there were no serviced flights available for Maribor which is why the airport is mostly operating in general aviation, private services and flight school operations. Rogaska Slatina is a nearby city from the MBX airport.
