Malta International Airport - MLA-Malta Intl.
Malta International Airport is located in Luqa, Malta and is the only airport that serves the whole of the Maltese Islands. Situated at the southwest regions of Valletta, it serves as hosts to several maintenance facilities for the airlines operating in the airport. Lufhanda Technik and SR Technics have maintenance facilities in the airport. MLA-Malta Intl. also serves as the home of the annual Malta Airshow up until 2017. Malta International Airport is currently being operated by the Malta International Airport plc.
Best Time to Visit
There is only one terminal in Malta International Airport. This terminal became operational in 1992 and served as a replacement of the old Luqa Terminal that is now being used for cargo flights. Arrival lounges and lounges dedicated to VIPs called the La Valette Club are also added to the original section of the terminal building initially used for departures. Office spaces are also available for lease to travel related operators and airlines at the airport. Disabled and reduced mobility features are also accessible within the airport. Valletta, the capital of Malta is located just a few minutes away from the airport.
