Moorea Airport – MOZ Moorea
Moorea Airport is alternatively known as Tamae Airport or Moorea Temae Airport. The airport primarily serves the island of Moorea in French Polynesia, France. It is situated 2.2 miles northeast of the main village in the island named Afareitu and 9.3 miles west of Tahiti. It started its services in 1967 as Tamae airfield. Since 2003, the airport is on the works of upgrading to accommodate larger aircrafts like ATR 72.

Moorea Airport is a small airport that has a single asphalt runway measuring 4,058 feet by 98 feet. It serves Air Tahiti which offers routes going to and from Bora Bora, Huahine-Fare, Papeete and Raiatea. A green and yellow bus called the Moorea Tour Bus brings and picks-up people to and from the airport. Based on 2009 statistics, there were 14,360 aircraft movements in the airport. The first flight that departs from the airport daily is at 0730H am with Air Tahiti airline 0206 going to Papeete followed by Air Tahiti airline 0203 at about the same time. The last flight is the route going to Bora Bora at 1700H. The airport has the basic features of an airport with a gift and food shop.

Sofitel Moorea ia Ora Beach Resort is a luxury hotel located ten minutes from the airport. It features its beautiful white sands and scenic view of the lagoon and the figure of the Tahiti Island. Located also ten minutes from the airport is Green Lodge Moorea, a property with a private beach and pool. Just around the area is Anapa Beach Guesthouse, which also boasts of its turquoise beach waters.
