Osceola: A Historical Town in Polk County
Osceola is a city in Nebraska that serves Polk County’s seat. It is known as the hometown of three Nebraskan governors, namely, Ashton Shallenberger, John Hopwood Mickey, and Albinus Nance. It has been recorded that its official establishment began in 1871 when a resident from Iowa moved in and named this place after his old hometown.
Best Time to Visit
During the fall season, the city hosts the Dawg Daze Festival. It is a car show event sponsored by Speedway Motors, which features auctions, live music, and free food tasting. It attracts a lot of people from the neighboring cities, so it is best to book Osceola accommodations before arriving in this place.
