Pai: A Charming Southeast Asian Valley
A little valley in the province of Mae Hong Son, north of Thailand, called Pai lies on Pai River. It is close to the Myanmar border which would explain the heavy influence of the Burmese culture. Many backpackers love this charming town due to its cheap lifestyle, hot springs, and breathtaking valley views. Pai, Thailand is accessible through flight from the Mae Hong Son Airport or through land from Chiang Mai’s Arcade Bus Station.

Pai, Thailand is slowly becoming one of the most visited provinces in the country. Many tourists usually come during summer break from April, May and July which are the hottest months of the year. The best time to check this charming valley is during November-February where the air is cooler and there is little to no rain. Pai experiences both sunny and rainy weather.

Outdoor lovers will surely adore the many adventures that await in Pai. These include Noi’s Elephant Camp, ThaPai Hot Springs, and the Pai Canyon. You can take a walk towards the Mo Paeng Waterfalls. Pai is also famous for its Walking Street where you can get cheap but tasty street foods and souvenirs to bring home. As Thailand is famous for its many vibrant temples, this little valley also has its own shares of temples to visit such as Wat Klang and Wat Sri Don Chai.
