Placencia Airport – PLJ Belize
Placencia Airport is a small public airport located three miles from the capital Placencia Village, which can be found on the southern tip of the Placencia Peninsula. The only airport in Placencia, Belize, PLJ Airport handles domestic flights to and from destinations such as Belize City, Punta Gorda and Dangriga through two airlines: Maya Island Air and Tropic Air. Flights to Dangriga and Punta Gorda generally take about 20 minutes, while the trip to and from Belize City takes 45 minutes.
Best Time to Visit
PLJ Airport has only one asphalt runway that measures 650 meters. The airport can technically be considered an airstrip due to its size; however, there are plans to expand the airport to accommodate international flights as well. Placencia Airport is also an access way to the other beautiful villages in the Placencia Peninsula located in StannCreek District, such as the Maya Beach Village and the Seine Bight Village.
