Mar de Cortés International Airport is an airport in Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico also goes by the name Puerto Penasco International Airport. It is one of the first purely privately funded airports in Mexico that serves the areas of Puerto Penasco and La Jolla de Cortes. Owned by the Grupo Vidanta, which originally invested in the improvement of the first airfield that opened in the region in the 1940s. A new commercial airport was built 10 miles of the existing airfield which was later inaugurated in November 2009 - Mar de Cortes International Airport.

PPE-Puerto Penasco Intl. is a public airport that features a single concrete runway 2,560 meters in length. It can serve aircrafts as large as the Boeing 767 as well as even larger aircrafts. It is the fourth runway in the country that is constructed entirely with concrete. Aeromexico and TAR originally served flights domestically from the airport back in 2014 and 2016 respectively. In 2016, the airport had a total of 2,466 passengers. Cholla Bay and Puerto Penasco offers a great escape for sightseeing close to the airport.
