General Sudirman Airport- PWL, Purwokerto
General Sudirman Airport,also called as Wirasaba Airport, is situated at Purwokerto, Indonesia. The airport’s name is named after an Indonesian national hero, General Sudirman. The airport serves six regencies such as the Purbalingga Regency, Banyumas Regency, Kebumen Regency, Banjarnegara Regency, Wonosobo Regency, and Pemalang Regency. PWL-General Sudirman Airport used to be an Indonesian air force airfield and is currently under renovation; the commercial operation of the airport is set to start in April 2020 and will be managed by PT Angkasa Pura II.

According to the plan, General Sudirman Airport is planned to have a 115 hectares with a 2,500-meter long runway. The airport design will be inspired by the Limasan concept and the joglo house with Javanese carvings and batik ornaments. It aims to serve 300,000 passengers annually. Kampung Pelangi Purwokerto and Taman Andhang Pangrenan Purwokerto are some of the famous spots near General Sudirman Airport.
