Rijeka Airport is the international airport serving the city of Rijeka, Croatia. Rijeka is a city found in Primorsko-Goranska. This city has a population of 141,172 making it the biggest city in Primorsko-Goranska. Rijeka Airport (RJK) is actually located on the island of Krk, close to Omisalj, approximately 30 km from Rijeka. Rijeka may not be the biggest airport in Croatia, but with some 3 million people within a 2-hour drive, as well as its status at the 2020 European City of Culture, it is becoming increasingly popular.

In 1970, RJK - Rijeka Airport opened and before the Second World War Rijeka was divided between Yugoslavia and Italy. Nowadays, Rijeka Airport (RJK) is open all year round and it has very good connections with the rest of Europe as well as other Croatian cities. Even though the majority of flights is seasonal, there are also regular flights. Rijeka’s airport terminal is compact and located on two floors. The city has an interesting historical background and every year, the city hosts one of the biggest carnival festivals. There is an organized transfer for all passengers. If you take the airport bus, you can reach the cities of Dobreć, Icici, Volosko, and 90 minutes will bring you to the capitals of Zagreb and Ljubljana, Venice and Zadar, Graz and Split – the geographical location is very favourable.
