San Kamphaeng: Exploring the Beauty of a Colorful Thai District
Known as a district within the province of Chiang Mai, San Kamphaeng, Thailand is home to over 73,000 residents as of 2005. It was established back in 1902 under the name Mae Om. It wasn’t renamed to San Kamphaeng until 1923. The district is further divided into ten sub-districts, totaling to a hundred villages. Guests can visit the community any time of year, as there are numerous hotels and lodging readily available within the vicinity.
Best Time to Visit
From the district of San Kamphaeng, you can drive to the village of Bo Sang, which celebrates one of the most visited festivals in the area. The Bo Sang Umbrella Festival & Sankamphaeng Handicrafts Festival is celebrated for three days every January, which also happens to be the busiest month for the town. That said, an early booking at your preferred San Kamphaeng, Thailand hotels is a must. Meanwhile, tourism begins to die down come March to May.
