An international airport serving the second largest city in Greece, Thessaloniki, GR, the Thessaloniki Airport is located 13 kilometers southeast of Thermi. It was formerly known as Mikra Airport. This is the main airport in the country’s northern most part, after Heraklion International Airport and Athens International Airport, considered to be the third largest on the list. It started accommodating passengers way back in 1930, and became the second busiest airport in Greece. Aside from serving its neighboring city, it serves people wanting to fly to Chalkidiki as well as Central Macedonia.
