Pinehurst Regional Airport – SOP Southern Pines
The Pinehurst Regional Airport is one of the four airports in North Carolina. It is located three miles north of Southern Pines, five miles northeast of Pinehurst, Moore County, U.S. State of North Carolina and serves Southern Pines/Pinehurst and the nearby areas. The Pinehurst Regional Airport code which is SOPis taken from the South Pines. It is classified as a public type airport. The airport’s recorded activity started in 1991 when CcrAir of US Airways Express operated flights to Charlotte Douglas International Airport. It was ended after the September 11 attack and then resumed in 2006 and again ended in 2007.
