Tamale: West Africa’s Fastest Developing Town
Tamale, Ghana is the capital of the country’s northern region and one of West Africa’s fastest growing towns. Majority of the residents are Muslims, and visitors will see plenty of mosques within the city. Travelers will be coming in from the Tamale Airport (TML), which is just a 29-minute ride from the city center.
Best Time to Visit
One of the best times to visit the city of Tamale, Ghana is in the first week of March, for the annual Ghana Roots Reggae Tour. Locals gather at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium for a week-long celebration of music through lively concerts. From November to March, the city experiences low chances of rain, making it easy for travelers to check out lots of outdoor pursuits, and of course, enjoy outdoor reggae concerts. The low season runs from April through October because of the rain, but it makes a good excuse for some luxurious staycation in one of the top Tamale, Ghana hotels and resorts.
