Tampere-Pirkkala Airport – TMP Tampere
Tampere-Pirkkala Airport with code TMP is located in Tampere, Finland. The location of the airport is exactly 13 km from the city center of Tampere. In terms of passengers, the airport is considered 8th in the whole country. In 2016, the country has served over 100,000 passengers. The facility is also the home of Satakuna Air Command which is part of the Finnish Airforce. In 2014, the F-18 Horners that was stationed in the airfield was dissolved. The airport was inaugurated in 1936 and it was connected to Finnair.

In 1941, the first terminal building of the Pampere-Pirkkala Airport (TMP) was built. The first flight going to Stockholm took off in the 1950s. The runway of the airfield was paved during the late 50s. The old Hamala Airport has served over a million of passengers until it was replaced by this airport.
Aside from Tampere, you can visit the cities of Hervanta and Pirkkala from the TMP airport.
