Tropic: Conquering East of Bryce Canyon National Park
Located in Garfield County, Tropic was founded in 1891 and has a small population compared to other towns in America. Tropic, UT is the first ever community located near Bryce Canyon National Park. The region was founded as a result of two water projects in the regions of East Fork and Spring Creek. The name of the region created a discussion among its locals. The region was originally named Erastus in honor of a Mormon Apostle. The region was later on called Tropic in reference to the several semi-tropical fruits located in the region.
