Baxter County Airport is a public airport operated by the Baxter County Airport Authority. WMH Airportis classified as a general aviation facility that handles military and air taxi flights as well. Due to its location near the Mountain Home district of Baxter County, Arkansas, the airport is also known to some as Mountain Home Airport. WMH Airport was first called Twin Lakes Municipal Airport after Twin Lakes Industrial District, a 700-acre area intended for economic and industrial development. It was built and privately funded by the Industrial Development Corporation of the Ozarks (IDCO), a non-profit organization, in order to provide air service for the area. The airport’s name was changed to Baxter County Regional Airport in 1979, to Ozark Regional Airport in 2005, and then finally to Baxter County Airport in 2017. Baxter County Airport serves as a gateway to nearby cities like Bull Shoals, Hardenville and Midway.
