Yilan – A City Visited for its Hotsprings
Fun fact, Yilan, Taiwan was originally part of Japan before it was handed to the Republic of China in 1945. This picturesque town is situated on the Yilain Plain. A neighbor of the bustling Taipei, Yilan used to be 2 hours’ worth of travel for visitors. Today however, the High Speed Rail easily brings visitors to the small town in as little as 30 minutes.
Best Time to Visit
Yilan is best visited during the off-peak season if you want to save on the rates of lodging and air fare. The low season typically starts on the month of June while peak season are during the months of February, August, and November. You’d want to book Yilan, Taiwan hotels just right because they’re packed during festivals like the Yilan Green International Film Festival or the Yilan International Children’s Folklore and Folkgame Festival. The Yilan Green Expo celebrated every spring is also growing in popularity thanks to the eco-friendly movement.
