Sudbury Airport – YSB
In the city of Sudbury, Ontario is an airport named after itself. Its official name, however, has dropped the “Greater” in it and is simply called Sudbury Airport. The history of this airport began in 1952 when it was primarily used for emergency landing flights. It was only two years later that commercial flights landed and took off at YSB – Sudbury Airport. According to NAV Canada, it is classified as an airport of entry.

The Sudbury Airport (YSB) is considered to be one of Northern Ontario’s busiest airports. It consists of a single, small passenger terminal and two runways. It is a regional airport thus, the flights are only domestic. Air Canada Express, Porter Airlines, and Bearskin Airlines have daily routes to and from Toronto-Pearson, Toronto-Billy Bishop, and Timmins. YSB – Sudbury is a hub for Ornge, a non-profit charitable organization dedicated in providing air ambulances for those in need. The other flights handled at the YSB are general aviation services. Lively and Coniston are the nearest cities you can visit when you land on YSB.
