Mohammed V International Airport – CMN Casablanca
An international airport serving Casablanca, Morocco, Mohammed V International Airport is situated in Nouaceur Province. It was built in 1943 by the United States and was firstly named as Berrechid Airfield. After the World War II in 1945, it was handed over to the civil government and was opened again in 1950s under the name Nouasseur Air Base to help United States in the cold war. After the kingdom gained independence, it was given to Morocco in 1956 and was named after King Mohammed V of Morocco. In 2014, 8 million passengers were handled in the airport making it the Morocco’s busiest airport and fourth busiest in Africa. It is the hub of five different airlines.
Best Time to Visit
Mohammed V International Airport has three terminals and two asphalt runways in service that can accommodate Boeing 747. Only the two out of the three terminals of the airport is currently in use. The airport has a wide range of facilities that passengers can enjoy while waiting. There are airport lounges in each terminal. A variety of restaurants and gift shops can also be seen in both terminals. Bank, ATM machine and medical facilities are also available in the airport. Boulevard de la Corniche, Habbous Quarter and Casablanca are the cities around CMN Casablanca that you can visit and a have a tour.

There is an onsite hotel in Mohammed V International Airport called the Transit Hotel that is exclusive for transit passengers only. There are many other CMN Casablanca hotels near the airport such as the Suite Meublée à Nouaceur, Onomo Airport and Atlas Sky Airport.
