Hickory Regional Airport – HKY Hickory
Hickory Regional Airport is a city-owned airport in North Carolina. The airport was opened on May 17, 1940, and Pennsylvania Central Airlines is the first airline that serviced a flight at the airport. There are currently no commercial airlines serving flights in the airport since Delta Connection withdrew its services in 2005. Hickory Regional Airport as of today, is only used for general aviation. The rental of airplanes is provided in the airport for private entities.

Hickory Regional Airport stands in 299 hectares of land andhas two runways and a passenger terminal building that was built in the 1960s. The airport terminal is housing the airport administration and maintenance. A café, car rental, and bus services can also be found. The Hickory Aviation Museum is also located in the terminal building. A new building was built in 2003 for the general aviation community and to some flight instructors that teach at the airport.
