Purdue University Airport – LAF Lafayette
Owned by Purdue University, Purdue University Airport is a public airport that serves the city of Lafayette, Indiana. It is situated 2.3 miles southwest of Lafayette’s central business district. The airport is the second busiest airport in Indiana next to Indianapolis International Airport. The National Plan of Integrated Airports System has classified Purdue University Airport as a general aviation airport. The airport facility does not serve commercial flights anymore. American Connection was the last airline that operated in the airport before ceasing operations on February 15, 2004.

LAF-Purdue University Airport is consisting of two asphalt-paved runways and one passenger terminal which was used for commercial service until February in 2004. Indianapolisis one of the cities close to LAF and is the state capital of Indiana. The city is known for hosting number of international multi-sports events and for hosting yearly the Indianapolis 500, the world’s biggest single-day sporting event.
