Adisumarmo International Airport- SOC Airport
Adisumarmo International Airport - SOC Airport is the international airport of Central Java, Indonesia, which was previously known as the Panasan Air Force Base. SOC airport was also known as Adi Sumarmo Airport before it was renamed to its current name. It is located in Boyolali Regency in the north of Surakarta City. SOC airport serves as the main airport for the Surakarta and the surrounding cities such as Kotabaru and Turi, which is also part of the Solo Raya. The airport is classified as Public and military type which is owned by the government of Indonesia.
Best Time to Visit
SOC airport has only been designated to be an international airport in 1989 as it provided flight from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore. The SOC airport has undergone a redevelopment, and in 2009 opened a new terminal, which has larger capacity than the older airport. The airport can also accommodate more flights especially on Hajj season where influx of pilgrims comes to the city. Currently, there are ten functional airlines in this airport most have access to Jakarta and other international networks.

During a calamity in 2010, SOC airport was used as an alternative to Adisutjipto International Airport - JOG in Yogyakarta due to its proximity to it.
