Húsavík Airport is a domestic public airport operating 6.5 miles southwest of the town of Húsavík, Iceland. It serves the entire town as well as surrounding areas on the northern coast of the country. The airline Eagle Air offers flights to and from Reykjavík, Iceland, while Air Icelandflies travelers to and from Akureyri, Iceland. The Húsavík Airport is operated by Isavia, which is the country’s national airport and air navigation service provider.
Best Time to Visit
There is a single runway serving the airport measuring 5,266 feet long with an asphalt surface. It sits at an elevation of approximately 48 feet above mean sea level with the Gardur and Husavik non-directional beacons both located just off the runway’s threshold. In 2016, a total of 20,394 passengers were served by Húsavík Airport. Aside from Husavik, you can enjoy the attractions of the nearby Myvatn and Skutustadir.
