Itami Airport -ITM airport is also known as the Osaka International Airport. ITM airport is the main regional airport that caters for Kansai region in Japan. It is the third busiest airport in Japan and the busiest in the region. ITM is operated by the local Kansai Airports Kansai region covers major city of Japan such as Kyoto, Kobe and Osaka. Fukushima, Higashiosaka-shi and Ikeda are nearby cities and towns from the airport. Although it is labeled as international airport, this airport only caters to domestic networks. It is Kansai International Airport that caters for international routes.
Best Time to Visit
ITM airport opened in 1939 as an airport used for Imperial Japanese Army. The initial airport was extended by the US forces after the World War II and was reclaimed as Itami Air Base. Before ITM airport was converted back to be a regional airport, ITM airport operates major international networks with Pan Am, British Airways and Air India, and more airlines. Long-term plan is geared to opening longer operating time and more landing slots.
