Best Time to Visit
Póvoa de Varzim has ideal weather for most of the year specifically from April to November with May, August and July as the busiest months. The town becomes abuzz with activity during its municipal holiday on June 29 when it celebrates Saint Peter's Day, the city’s patron saint. A "rusgas" (a sort of carnival) is showcased and it attracts many visitors causing a surge in prices for Póvoa de Varzim hotels and flights. Things slow down in November and those willing to visit during this month will surely spend less.
