Pula Airport – PUY
The Pula Airport is an international airport in Croatia. It is one of the nine airports in the country and the only one in Istria that serves regularly scheduled commercial services. The airport is strategically situated in the city centre of Pula, the largest city of the county of Istria and serves Pula City, Croatia and the nearby towns. The Pula Airport, whose airport code is PUY, is intended to serve as an alternate airport for some of Slovenia and lot of cities in Italy. It is also popular for jet set passengers with hired or owned aircraft for visiting Brijuni islands or watching concert in Pula Arena.

PUY-Pula Airport was operated by the Yugoslav Army for military purposes. In 1965, an agreement was made by Yugoslav Army, Ljubljana Airport, and Pula Municipality that the airport would have dual purpose; as military and at the same time civilian facility.In 1967, a terminal was constructed and became operational. A significant increase of the total number of passengers is felt during this year and onward and in 1983 more than half million passenger passed through the airport. In 1990, the highest number of passenger was recorded which reached 680,000. As of the present, Pula Airport is trusted in handling large aircraft such as Iliusin 86 and Boeing 747. You can easily drive to the tourists' sites of Radmani and Ruzici from the airport.
