Whitegrass Airport – TAH Tanna, Vanuatu
Whitegrass Airport or better known as Tanna Airport with the IATA code TAH is an airport for public use on the Tanna Island, in the Taféa province of Vanuatu. It is situated 4 miles north of Lénakel township. Tagged as one of the best and most efficient airports in Vanuatu, Whitegrass Airport sits at an elevation of 19 feet above mean sea level and can accommodate small to mid-sized turboprop aircraft.
Best Time to Visit
Whitegrass Airport’s flights go through one runway in asphalt surface that measures 1,230 by 30 meters. It welcomes all types of aircraft up to the ATR 42 series and has the capacity to serve all series of ATR 72 and other military aircrafts on load restrictions.The airport has a small terminal building plus several aviation support structures. Domestic flights to and from Port Vila, Aniwa, Ipota and other Vanuatu destinations are serviced by Air Vanuatu and Unity Airline. The airport serves as portal to the tropical paradise island of Tanna as well as to Lenakel, the largest town on the island which is nearby.
